Summer Days with Auntie Rach

My little sister always spends extra time with us in the summers when she is off of school.
Since I was a teacher and now a stay at home mom, I have always had summers off and I am thankful for the extra time I have gotten to spend with her over the years.

She is spending Fridays with us this summer and Kennedy and Mara just love it.

We love Auntie Rach! Can't believe she turns 10 this month. Where does the time go?!?!

Toothless Wonder

For the third summer in a row, Kennedy experienced dental trauma.

Earlier this week, she had two of her top teeth pulled as a result of the accident she had two years ago when she fell out of bed and hit her face on her nightstand. It took two years, but the teeth did die which caused an absess, facial swelling and fever. After four days on antibiotics to get the infection under control, we had these two teeth pulled.

 

Last summer, she had a run-in with her cousin Roderick's head and had to have her bottom tooth pulled. So all in all, she has three missing teeth - none of which have been lost naturally.

 

We are hoping this is the end to dental trauma for our girl.

Mara turned three at the end of June!

We had a great time celebrating her birthday at the Tacoma Children's Museum.

Sister Piggy Back Rides

Kennedy was so excited that she was "big enough" to give Mara a piggy back ride.

She seemed a little winded afterwards.

Not surprising since Mara only weighs 5 lbs less than her.
She pretty much gave herself a piggy back ride.

We Love You Dad!

This was Sean's Father's Day gift.

It took me approximately 50 shots to get it.

Mara did not understand what it meant to "open your hands wide."

But finally, we got it. And he loved it.
