Mara at 13 Months

I am about a month late on this post but better late than never, right?
And really... thirteen months is just the completion of a full twelve months!

At Mara's one year appointment, she weighed 17 lbs, 12 oz. (6th percentile) and was in the 25th percentile for height (forgot to right the exact length down!).

A few other details:
- Mara has three official teeth and three more have just broken through!
- She mostly sleeps through the night (bedtime is 7 pm). Will wake up once or twice a week for an early (4 am) bottle.
- Yes, she still has her bottle.
- We are officially done with formula and she loves her whole milk.
- She is an eating machine! She loves fruit, pasta, avocado, peas, green beans, ham, turkey and yogurt.
- Mara can stand for several minutes and will take a step or two but is not walking yet.
- Having said that, this girl is BUSY! And she is a climber. On a daily basis, I find her standing on top of chairs, stools, etc. She can climb all the way to the top of our backyard slide!
- She babbles quite a bit ...no real words yet.
- She is a happy, happy baby! People comment all the time on how smiley she is.

We love you to pieces, sweet Mara. X0X0

Rachael is Eight!

Not sure how it happened, but this little lady turned eight years old last week!
For her party, she wanted to have a mani-pedi party and a slumber party with a few friends... it was pretty cute to watch all the little girls sitting in the pedicure chairs.

Happy birthday to the best little sister anyone could ask for! X0X0

Bikin' Babe

She's movin' up in the world.
Watch out people... nothing beats a strawberry shortcake bike with training wheels.
Nothing.

Ike Kinswa Camping Trip

We had a fantastic time camping at Ike Kinswa state park this past weekend.
Ike Kinswa is located on beautiful Mayfield Lake.
I spent quite a bit of time there in high school but hadn't been back in years.
I was just as beautiful as I had remembered.

We went with five of my teaching buds and their fun families. There were 10 adults and 9 kids! Wowza!
This was Kennedy's very first camping trip and to say she loved it would be an understatement. We left Mara with my mom for the weekend and we brought Rachael along with us as well.

What a fun weekend!

We celebrated Nolan's 2nd birthday in the woods! What a sweet, sweet boy he is!

Fun at the Island... July 2012

We had a great time at the Island last weekend with one of our favorite families, the Williams!
We always have such a great time with them and Heidi was a trooper at 9 months pregnant.
And, we were ALL troopers as we endured the sharing difficulties between Payton and Kennedy :)
You can check out Heidi's "fancy" maternity photos over on the Junebug Blog.

Here are the snapshots, in no particular order.
Can't wait until next time! X0X0

Sean is going to kill me for posting this picture but it makes me laugh.
It is very clear that I was forcing this photo on my family as NO ONE looks happy, except for me. LOL

Into Everything... Literally!

Happy Birthday, America

We celebrated the fourth of July in a relaxed, low-key way this year which was refreshing.
It seems like holidays are generally chaotic and we are running from place to place.
We hung around the house in the morning and after naps we went over to Uncle Greg and Aunt Martha's to take part in their festivities for a few hours.
After getting home, the girls took their baths, Mara went to bed, and Sean and I stayed up until 10:00 with Kennedy so she could see some fireworks. Though a bit stand-offish about the noise of the fireworks, she seemed to enjoy seeing them around our neighborhood. Nevertheless, she was happy as a clam to sleep with us for the night as she was still pretty unsure about the loud booms that we heard until well after midnight.

True to form, our littlest lady slept through it all. :) She is, by far, the most rested person in our fam bam today!

Happy Birthday, America.
You are not perfect but I am proud to call you mine.
