.Mara at 4 Months.

Our little Junebug is already four months old!
Time is moving right along, as it always does.

Mara continues to be a sweetheart of a little baby.
If I could guarantee that all my babies would be like this...
I would probably consider having about a dozen more. Seriously.

Man I love those brows.
Those are my genes, baby.

The second baby is fun.
Really fun.

 Four month stats:
*** 12 lbs, 7 oz  (25th percentile)
*** 23 3/4 inches long (25th percentile)

McKenna Rose at 8 months...

I snapped this adorable photo of our niece, Mckenna, and just had to share.
Isn't she darling?

Pumpkin Carving 2011

The other day I texted my mom ... this was our "conversation"...

ME: "Do you and Rachael want to come over and carve pumpkins?"
MOM: "OMG- I hate pumpkin carving. Rachael already did one with her dad."
ME: "Debbie Downer."

I should have known my mom didn't like pumpkin carving because I literally have no childhood memories of pumpkin carving which leads us to the question.... Who did I carve pumpkins with?

Every year, I get excited to carve pumpkins and every year after it is over, I try to remember why I was excited to do so. It's messy, it's slimy and my carving designs always look like crap. So this year I reflected back on that text message conversation and realized... my mom is right... pumpkin carving kind of sucks. Now I am the Debbie Downer (p.s. if you don't know who Debbie Downer is... YouTube old episodes of SNL with her in the skits... they are dang funny).

Aside from the mess, our night of pumpkin carving was fun... we ate a yummy dinner and it was fun to watch the kiddos enjoy the pumpkin experience. But.... pumpkin carving 2011 is officially OVER. Sigh....

I know, I know... how do you not like pumpkin carving when your daughter smiles like this???

Bathing Beauties

Katie's recent blog post inspired me to give the girls their first bath together.
As you can see, Kennedy loved it and Mara was just along for the ride (as usual)...

On a side note, people always ask me if Kennedy had as much hair at 3 months as Mara does at 3 months.
Before today, I couldn't seem to remember.
And then I came across this picture...

Clearly, Kennedy is the winner. Holy Hair.

Pumpkin Patches 2011

It is the year of the Pumpkin Patch.
Last week, Amy and I went on a field trip to Terry's Berries Farm with the kid's pre-school class.
They rode a tractor (well, Roderick did... Kennedy chose not to which is rare for her), fed chickens, picked vegetables and fruit, stomped in the mud and picked a pumpkin.
We all trekked along in our rain boots enjoying the beautiful, foggy fall day.

And today, on an equally foggy fall day, we drove down to Mosby's Pumpkin Patch and met up with the William's family. Though the pumpkin patch was a tad disappointing because the hay ride wasn't in use and there was no hot chocolate or cider (a must-have at a pumpkin patch, if you ask me)... we still had a great time, as usual, with our wonderful friends!

My little helper... always available to zip a coat, take off a shoe, put a hat on... :)

Miss Heather... the sweetest girl around...

October has always been my favorite month of the year.
I just love fall.

Well Hello Blue Eyes!

Cousin Rachael & Auntie Judy

Rachael and Aunt Judy were visiting Seattle this past weekend and it was great to see them Saturday night. We had so much fun drinking wine, eating and visting. Sadly, it was the first time I had seen either of them since Rachael's wedding over a year ago! I have really missed my cousin and it was sooo wonderful to spend time catching up. And, they were able to see our new house, meet baby girl and see a more grown-up Kennedy!

Thanks for visiting, we had a wonderful time. Love you both!

Fall Weekend at the Island

We spent an impromptu fall weekend at Anderson Island with one of our favorite families- the Williams!
Amy and Harv stayed at the Lake House with Harv's family while we stayed at the cabin. Though we all spent two evenings together, I only managed to break my camera out for our afternoon walk to the beach. Therefore, there is no documentation of our time with the Harvie fam! Sorry guys!

Backstory: Heidi and I met our junior year in high school. Our senior year, we were placed in several classes together. Simply put...it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. We lived together for a total of four years. We partied and laughed our way through college and even lived together the year after we graduated. We have shared a lot ... even being maids of honor in each other's weddings. Now that we are married and busy with our kids, work... and just life in general, we don't get to see each other as much as we would like. So it was great to spend the weekend together and catch-up, laugh and enjoy each other's families.

The Three Of Us

Three is not a crowd in our house.
Looking forward to a long life with these two little gals.

Kennedy's New Cut

I have a thing for little girls with bobs. I always have.
So it is not surprising that I literally got teary eyed when I saw her new haircut.
