Father's Day 2013

We spent a fun Father's day afternoon at Sean's dad and stepmom's house.
It was a beautiful afternoon so I took advantage and did some "daddy and me" photos with the dads and their kiddos.

I have said it before and I have no problem saying it again.... my girls really lucked out in the dad department. Everyday he demonstrates to them (and me!) what a good, honest, funny and loving man truly IS. The ladies in this house sure do love him. Happy Father's Day, Sean!!! X0X0

These kiddos LOVE their papa. We are missing Liam and Elsie as they were with their dad for the afternoon... looking forward to taking another group photo soon so we can get all eight grandkids in the photo.

No family resemblance here huh? ;)

Bachelorette Party Weekend

I spent last weekend in Lake Chelan celebrating my friend Cassidy's last hurrah as a single lady!
Heidi, Margaret and I road tripped it over the mountains and spent two fun days with a great group of girls.

A few shots from our super fun (and much needed!) girls weekend!
I am so excited for Cassidy and John's upcoming wedding, they are such a great couple!

Emerging Literacy

Over the past few months, Kennedy has developed a huge interested in writing letters and numbers and drawing pictures. I love to read and write and as a former 1st/2nd grade teacher, I am just enamored by the emerging literacy process.

This is a picture Kennedy drew of her family (our cat, Max, included!) and she wrote her name at the bottom. She is able to write her name completely unassisted! :) With assistance, she is also able to write a few other words including Mara, Renee, Daddy, Mommy and Papa. M's, K's, A's, R's and D's are her specialty. :)

Four year olds are awesome and I am one proud mama.

Summer 2013 Kickoff / Robbie + Krista

The McKenna family officially began Summer 2013 with a ragin' road trip to Montana for my cousin Robbie's beautiful wedding! Robbie and Krista were married in gorgeous Big Fork, MT.

It was a whirlwind of a trip but I am so glad we went as it was wonderful to see so much of my family.
PLUS, Kennedy was the flower girl! Albeit, a non-participatory flower girl but nonetheless... a flower girl :)
Because she was in the wedding, we were invited to the rehearsal dinner. It was held at the Whitefish Lodge and it was gorgeous. Wish I had a few photos to share but I was extremely sporadic with my picture taking on this trip. I took all my photos with my phone or my little camera and only when I thought about it. It was kind of refreshing! We rode a bus to the rehearsal dinner ... here are a few snapshots on the ride there.

My cousin Reed and my Uncle Bill serving beers on the bus... only in Montana, people. Only in Montana.

the cute Heberly family!

A couple of cute photos as we walked around the cute town of Big Fork the next morning...

And finally, an assortment of photos from the actual wedding.

The bride and groom... beautiful, beautiful couple!

This is (in a nutshell) how Kennedy felt about being flower girl:

Maybe they should have asked Mara to be flower girl... LOL

As the evening wore on, we did get a few smiles out of Kennedy :)

We have been wanting to get this picture for awhile... Heidi, Paige, my mom and Mara. They all resemble each other so much... true dark haired, bushy-browed beauties!!

Kennedy and great-aunt Sharon

my mom with almost all of her siblings... Uncle Tom couldn't make it

Mara had a great time with her cousin Drew (my cousin Reed's son).
They are only two months apart in age and they had so much fun chasing each other around (a.k.a Mara trying to undress Drew).
