Happy Birthday, America

We celebrated the fourth of July in a relaxed, low-key way this year which was refreshing.
It seems like holidays are generally chaotic and we are running from place to place.
We hung around the house in the morning and after naps we went over to Uncle Greg and Aunt Martha's to take part in their festivities for a few hours.
After getting home, the girls took their baths, Mara went to bed, and Sean and I stayed up until 10:00 with Kennedy so she could see some fireworks. Though a bit stand-offish about the noise of the fireworks, she seemed to enjoy seeing them around our neighborhood. Nevertheless, she was happy as a clam to sleep with us for the night as she was still pretty unsure about the loud booms that we heard until well after midnight.

True to form, our littlest lady slept through it all. :) She is, by far, the most rested person in our fam bam today!

Happy Birthday, America.
You are not perfect but I am proud to call you mine.

A few of our favorite peeps at the party...
