Aiden | Four Months Old

Aiden Sean turned four months on October 2nd. He had his two month well check last week and is doing great! He is consistently growing at the 15th percentile for both height and weight and weighed in at 13.11 lbs. He is about a pound heavier than both of the girls at the same age which I expected but he is still on the smaller side which just seems to be how my babies are!

At four months, Aiden is:
- Smiling, laughing, attempting to roll over and sucking/chewing on EVERYTHING.
- Sleeping mostly through the night (bedtime at 7:00, sleeps until about 4, drinks 6 oz bottle and back to sleep until 7 am... no complaints here!).
- Naps 3-4 times throughout the day (mostly in the car... third kid problems!).
- Wearing 6 mo clothing
- Getting lots of hair!

Four months in with three kids and I can honestly say I don't know if I have ever been so busy. The days fly by and I swear I spend half of my life in my car. Between school and preschool drop-offs and pick-ups and soccer drop-offs and pick-ups, poor Aiden also spends most of his life in the car! This schedule loving mama struggles with the fact that he is on such a poor nap schedule during the day but there isn't much I can do about it so he just adjusts and naps on the go.

After Kennedy gets home from school, it's a race to the finish line. Homework (SO much first grade homework?!?!), dinner, baths, reading and bedtime is our basic routine. We are grateful for a quiet house by 8 pm and then we collapse into bed by 10. They say the days are long and the years are short - I can see how this is so very true.

They also say how you spend your days is how your spend your life in which case, I am so very blessed. We love you Aiden Sean. You have added so very much to our family... we can't wait to see you continue to grow and change.

Here are some favorite photos of Aiden and his sisters from September/October.

Labor Day Weekend at the Island

We snuck away for a quiet family weekend at Anderson Island over Labor Day weekend.
We are trying to make an effort to go to the island more often as we are so lucky to have it in the family! It was a hiking, woods-exploring, campfire-making, beach-combing, movie-watching, over-eating kind of weekend (the best kind, really!).

Love this little fam bam of mine.

My twins. Born 6 years apart. Genes are crazy.
We have a blast with Cooper at the Island.
He loves it there and the girls love to roam and romp around with him.
Dogs are a lot of work but for us, he is oh so worth it. He's been a great addition to our family and has such a great disposition and endless patience with the girls.

First Grade Bound!

Kennedy started first grade this week! She was excited and nervous all at once and after a few nervous tears at drop off, she had a great first day!

Comments after school on the first day:

- "Mrs. McKinley is nice. A lot nicer than I thought she was going to be."
- "MOM... I cannot believe I am in first grade. Like, I can't believe it. All day I just couldn't believe it."
- "Everyone loved my backpack. I even saw a few kids staring at it."

Man, I love this kid. She makes me want to pull. my. hair. out. on a regular basis because she is so, SO dramatic (is this a girl thing or a kennedy thing - not sure yet) but I truly love her to pieces and just as often as she drives me crazy, she makes me laugh.

Hoping for an awesome first grade year for our girl!
P.s. I calculated that she will graduate from high school in 2027 (yowza!) and she tells me she wants to be a doctor when she grows up (or a tattoo artist... hmmm... decisions, decisions).

Mara at FOUR

I never got around this summer to taking Mara somewhere and doing her four year old photos so I snapped some cute ones of her on my bed the other day. I always say it and it remains true...
God placed the sweetest of souls in this one.

Aiden | 3 Months Old

Three months in and we are ridiculously in love with this happy, dimply sweetheart of a baby boy!
As he heads into his third month, here are a few facts about our boy:
- Sleeping through the night! (sleeps, on average, from 9:30 pm-5:30 am, drinks 6 oz bottle and back to sleep until 7ish).
- FULL of smiles and coos and the beginnings of little laughs
- wearing 3-6 month clothes and 6 month jammies (he's pretty long!)
- starting to attempt rolling over (throws legs to the side but can't quite make it!)

A few favorite photos from August... he looks just a bit like his dad huh? ;)
